  Should I use Western Calendar or Chinese Lunar Calendar when I enter birthday for Chinese Astrology? 

You should use the Western Calendar for your birthday. Our software will convert the Western Calendar to Chinese astrology calendar for you. By the way, the Chinese astrology calendar is different from Chinese lunar calendar.

  How to adjust time for Daylight Saving Time? 

Chinese astrology uses the solar time. If you were born in the Daylight Saving Time period, you need to adjust your birth time to standard time. In USA, if the birth time is 7:30 AM of Daylight Saving Time, then you need to enter your birth time 6:30 AM of the standard time.

  When to use the Civil Calendar or Astronomical Calendar? 

If you were not born in China, the we should use Astronomical Calendar. If you were born in China, you have a choice to select Civil Calendar or Astronomical Calendar. The Civil Calendar is same to the Chinese Calendar published by Chinese government. In most of cases, the result will be the same using either Calendar. The difference will happen on the boundary of the Astrology Months.

  When do we need to use Time Zone and City Longitude? 

Most of people don't need to use Time Zone and city Longitude to adjust the birth time. This is because that the interval of Chinese astrology hour is two hours and the hour interval will remain the same after the adjustment.

The people needs to adjust their birth time, only if they were people born in the boundary of Chinese astrology month, day or hour. If a person was born 15 minutes around 1:00 AM/PM, 3:00 AM/PM, 5 AM/PM, 7 AM/PM, 9 AM/PM, 11AM/PM and 0:00 AM., then the birth time adjustment should be considered.

Actually, Chinese astrology uses the True Solar Time. After time zone and city longitude adjustment, the conversion to True Solar Time is required if looking for high accuracy.

  What's the True Solar Time (Sundial time)? 

Chinese astrology uses the solar time. After the conversion from time zone and the city longitude, the time is not the true solar time, because the solar day is NOT 24 hours even per day in the entire year. We need the equation of time to adjust our birth time to the True Solar Time, which is the Sundial time. The True Solar Time conversion is only available in the Chinese Fortune Angel software, not available on the website.
